| Toyama Castle was the residence of the lord of the Toyama-han (a feudal domain) that was granted 100,000 Koku (a unit measurement of rice) of land. Later, the castle remains were renovated as the Toyama Castle Park, a place to relax. The castle tower was reconstructed after the Second World War and is utilized as Toyama Kyodo Hakubutsukan (local history museum) that exhibits historical objects relating to Toyama-han. The park has another museum, Sato Memorial Museum noted for its collection of utensils for tea ceremony and antiques. |
